Strip Out | Structural Alteration

Scope Of Works

Lancebox were contracted by Mansell to undertake this major strip out and structural alteration package in the heart of London for British Land PLC.

The strip out involved taking the 9 storey building back to a shell including all the associated temporary works to keep the building stable. The roof was also removed in its entirety leaving just the supporting steel works.

The most challenging part of the works undertaken by Lancebox on this scheme involved the safe dismantling of a 27m high glass atrium (shown top left). This was carried out using multiple scissor lifts operated by IPAF qualified operatives. The glass sections were lowered in sections to minimise risk and disruption to the area.

Lancebox also carried out the complete removal of all the lifts and internal staircases as well as all external curtain walling.
