Background
The Plaza Oxford Street, built in 1894, was originally a Bourne & Hollingsworth department store. The Plaza shopping centre opened in 1986 comprising of 20 retail units before its closure in 2016.
The Plaza is being converted by Sirosa and Arcadia into a flagship store providing 73,000 sqft of retail space for Next and 25,000 sqft of retail and restaurant space to Berners Street/Eastcastle Street.
Since October 2016 Lancebox have carried out the internal strip out and structural demolition on behalf of Sir Robert McAlpine who are acting as the principal contractor.

Diamond floor saw cutting all new floor openings into 0.5 ton sections for lifting and removal including for corner stitch drilling
Removal of the ground floor slab (reinforced concrete 350mm thick and 1078 square metres)
